Can I get a single ticket up?

Single tickets up can be purchased in the ticket office at Llanberis or in advance by telephone with a credit/debit card (subject to a £3.50 booking fee).

Can I get a single ticket down?

Single tickets down are only available on a standby, first come, first served basis at the destination station of the day (Summit or Clogwyn) and walkers should be aware that there is no guarantee of there being trains with available seats on the mountain at any given time. Therefore, if you walk up, you should bear in mind that you may have to walk down as well.

Can I walk up and use a return ticket down?

Due to unpredictable weather on the mountain we cannot guarantee trains will reach the Summit before it leaves Llanberis Station. Return tickets are only valid once they have been clipped by the train guard upon boarding the train in Llanberis.

Where do I collect my tickets from?

Pre- booked tickets are available for collection from our Llanberis Ticket Office right up to 30 minutes before departure. We do not post out pre-booked tickets. Why not arrive a little earlier and enjoy our Victorian shopping experience or spend some time in our Film Theatre before you board your train?

Can I purchase a ticket on the day?

All available tickets for the day are sold daily from 0830 am in our ticket office in Llanberis on a first come first served basis. We do not accept telephone or web bookings on the day of travel. At peak holiday periods particularly in good weather, all of our trains can be sold out. Advance booking is recommended.

    What time are the trains?

The first train is scheduled to leave Llanberis at 09.00 am with later trains running at frequent intervals subject to customer demand. It is advisable to call us before setting off to avoid disappointment.

How long can I stay at the Summit Building, Hafod Eryri?

A return ticket allows for an approximate 30 minute stop at the summit before returning on the same train (This is the only logistical way we can guarantee to bring you back down the mountain as there may not be availability or trains later in the day and with the weather able to change very quickly train services maybe stopped at short notice).

What happens if the weather is bad, can I get a refund?

If Snowdon Mountain Railway cancels a train you will receive a full refund. If you choose not to travel because of bad weather then you would forfeit your ticket.

Is there parking at the railway?

There is a pay and display car park at the rear of the railway.
