Earlier this year, we asked amateur photographers and guests to submit their best images of our iconic railway, and after over 200 entries from keen snappers across the UK and Europe we can now reveal our top three photos for the year!
In third place is Vincent Palmer with his colour image depicting two diesels at the summit.
In second place is Darren Thomas from Winchester with his monochrome image showing a steamer climbing the mountain.
And the winner of our first place prize is…
Adrian Evans from Rhyl with the colour image of our Snowdon Lily on the mountain.
We’ve been extremely pleased with the quality of the entries this year, but congratulations must go to Adrian Evans for his stunning photography, and his prize is a VIP steam trip to the summit, including an overnight stay at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Llanberis. Each of the runners up win return trips to the summit on our steam and diesel services respectively.
The winning images are now on display for visitors to enjoy within Snowdon Mountain Railway’s ticket office in Llanberis, while other entries are still available to browse online at the railway’s website.
