Looking for something unique to do this summer?

    12th July 2013

The Railway is now in full swing after this year’s final addition to the family, the Snowdon Lily. Last month Sir David Brailsford attended a ceremony at Llanberis to unveil a new carriage that now carries his name. The Team Sky performance director also officially launched our brand new Heritage Steam Experience that began its service to the summit of Snowdon at the beginning of June. Check out the video here. The Traditional Diesel Service is a two and a half hour round trip with a 30 minute stop at the summit. These new carriages deliver extra capacity, comfort and large windows to give an almost panoramic view as you ascend the mountain. If you’d prefer more time at the summit to take in the spectacular views, journey on the Heritage Steam Experience and enjoy an hour stop at top. The Snowdon Lily is a brand new Victorian style carriage built on the original chassis, which is over 100 years old, and is always pushed by a steam locomotive. So why not travel to the rooftop of Wales in one of our new carriages this summer, there is a chance it may be the Sir David Brailsford carriage or you might prefer the additional space of the Snowdon Lily; whichever one you travel on you will still be on a spectacular journey to the summit of the highest mountain in Wales. July is the beginning of our peak season and we advise that tickets be pre-booked to avoid disappointment. Tickets can be booked on our website www.snowdonrailway.co.uk or by calling the bookings hotline on 0844 493 8120 every day from 1pm. Back to Recent News
